Associate

**About the role**

We currently have a permanent opportunity for an Associate to join our Infrastructure team based Melbourne. QIC's Infrastructure team manages unlisted infrastructure investments on a global bases across three core sectors; Transport, Energy & Utilities, and Social Infrastructure.

The Associate position will be primarily responsible for financial modelling, analytical work and asset management for current and new investment opportunities in the Transport sector. This includes macro/market and sectoral research and individual investment due diligence and monitoring. Analytical, judgement, business writing, time management, and interpersonal skills are all required.

Other key accountabilities will include:

- Financial analysis (including financial modelling, sensitivity and scenario analysis).
- Valuation analysis (new opportunities and assist with coordination of periodic independent valuations of portfolio assets).
- Investment review and risk analysis.
- Investment process management and due diligence, including numerical analysis of investment performance, management of external consultants and material legal agreement due diligence and negotiation.
- Develop and maintain industry relationships.
- Assisting with asset management responsibilities including preparing for board meetings, updating internal monitoring checklists and quarterly valuations and client reporting responsibilities.
- Monitor sector, market and economic conditions and assess their impact on client infrastructure portfolios.
- Depending on the nature of the asset management or investment opportunity task, travel is likely to be required

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated aptitudes such as strong numerical and analytical skills, particularly advanced Excel financial modelling experience, as well as strong verbal, written, presentation and time management skills.

With prior experience working within an investment bank, or three or more years of directly relevant experience, you will have proven capability & strengths spanning across areas such as:

- Knowledge of the infrastructure industry and key trends.
- Accounting and valuations.
- Due diligence skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify and critically analyse key business issues and strategy.
- Intermediate MS Office skills including Word and PowerPoint.
- The ability to participate in projects, identify priorities, establishing time frames and complete or adjust where required.
