Cafe Manager

We are looking for a manager for Waratah. You will join a dynamic, customer focused, cafe group with existing venues and lead a team of staff to build customer relationships and business in our new venture.

JOB TITLE: Café Manager
JOB TYPE: Full Time 5 days including some weekends in various shifts

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensure the smooth operations of the café on a day to day basis
- Rostering, Staffing keeping wage costs to expectation
- Complaint Handling
- Stock control, ordering
- Ensure Food Safety standards are met
- Maintain Customer Focus
- Liases with owners regularly in regards to any operational issues
- Develop skills of staff through coaching and training
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Provide constructive feedback when required
- Make decisions based on customer and business needs
- Be involved in strategic development of the business
- Recruitment
- Willing to learn and update Kounta
- Be able to manage system outages and liase with the right people to have systems errors fixed
- SKILLS & EXPERIENCEExperience/ Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 years in hospitality Industry
- Not essential, but preferred management experience in the hospitality industry
- Not essential, but preferred management certificate
- Not essential but preferred Barista experience and certificate

Skills:PERFORMANCE GOALS:

- Excellent verbal and written communication with other kitchen and café staff.
- Organised and able to manage time
- Be able prepare multiple meals/ drinks at one time
- Safe Food Handling
- Be able to hold meaningful conversations with staff in relation to performance
- Provide training to staff
- All skills required of café staff
- Be able to complete all tasks asked of a café staff member including cook
- KPIs will be set in regards to sales and costs
- Deal with customers, suppliers and other employees professionally at all times
- Keep Kitchen clean, safe, organised and report any maintenance requirements to manager immediately
- Keep the customer at the centre of all activities and tasks
- Increase sales
- Staff and customer retention
