The Infrastructure Planning & Design team is a multidisciplinary technical professional group engaged to deliver infrastructure planning, design activities and survey services for Council. This spans transport assets, stormwater and waterway assets, open space assets and building assets and infrastructure.

**About The Role**
Reporting into the ‘Senior Manager Asset Strategy and Delivery’, you will lead 3-6 Direct reports and a wider team (20-40) including staff, consultants and contractors.

As the ‘Infrastructure Planning & Design Manager’ you will set Council up for success, by ‘planning for the future’ in relation to the delivery of infrastructure planning. Through the preparation of plans of management, masterplans, advance approvals (such as business cases, scoping, budgets, optioneering, concept designs), infrastructure design including concepts, DA/REF, detailed designs documentation and specifications, stakeholder engagement, project management and final budgets for construction. Service supports include asset management, GIS, planning and design, construction and as built.

Responsible for managing an annual budget ($15M-$25M) and resourcing, whilst creating and maintaining a strong organisational culture that is focused on achieving positive outcomes for the community.

Maximising the team’s capacity to develop and meet the needs of the construction program for the long-term capital works pipeline. As a confident orator, you will present to Council and the Executive providing key updates on project delivery and build relationships with internal teams and external contractors.

This is a significant role in terms of scale, deliverables and leadership in one of Sydney’s most high profile and desirable Local Government Authorities. It’s an opportunity to join a strong management team, all working together for the betterment of the community.

**Criteria**
It is expected that you will bring with you:

- Degree level qualifications in Construction, Engineering or Project Management (in a relevant discipline).
- Experience in Project Management for capital works (during the planning and design stages) in any/or all the asset classes including; buildings, open space, stormwater and transport.
- Demonstrated experience in managing the day-to-day operations of a multi-disciplinary business unit.
- Strong written and oral presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical, financial and legislative information in a clear and concise manner.
- The ability to interpret legislation and contracts, analytically assessing the impacts of these on cost-of-service delivery to form future budget submissions.
- Experience in procurement and administration of construction contracts.
- A valid Driver’s Licence and White Card
