As
**Database Administrator** you will proactively develop, implement, maintain and monitor a quality focused framework of standards, tools and processes for any interaction with Praemium’s database management Systems and drive continuous improvements across the Microsoft SQL Server across the technology group.

**Primary accountabilities of the Database Administrator include**:

- Maintain a detailed technical knowledge of database management systems, specifically Microsoft SQL Server.
- Proactively recommend and implement improvements to the way databases are utilised
- Ensure databases are highly available and have solid and tested data recovery techniques in place
- Implement changes to production database systems
- Participate in the development and implementation of a technology strategy
- Ensure relevant teams are given the skills to effectively manage the day-to-day operations of our database management and best practises.
- Ensure relevant teams are given the skills to effectively utilise all features of our database management systems
- Maintain a high level of knowledge across the various technology squads.
- Maintain a stable and secure data environment
- Constantly assess and ensure technology sustainability
- Ensure data environment is maintained to latest versions
- Liaise with vendors, as required.
- Provide out of office hours support and on call duties as needed to ensure business needs are continuously met

**Experience, qualifications and attributes sought after**:

- Relevant bachelor’s degree level qualification
- Experience administrating multiple versions of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience developing and implementing processes and standards
- Advanced level of competency in multiple versions of Microsoft SQL server including SSRS, SSIS and SSAS
- Ability to quickly analyse and understand large data sets
- Experience optimising data heavy solutions to improve performance
- High level of initiative, problem solving and organisational ability
- Proven commitment to personal improvement outside the work environment
- The ability to embrace change and proactively seek continuous improvement
