An exciting opportunity is now available for a Legal & Compliance Officer to join a prominent membership organisation This role would suit applicants with a background as a senior Paralegal or working within claims/case management.
**About the role...**
Reporting to the Director and Head of Memberships, you will work collaboratively with the organisation's senior executives to ensure that the legal and compliance obligations across their core activities are managed and met.
Your responsibilities will therefore include, but not be limited to;
- Interpretation, advice and compliance with external regulatory legislation and compliance matters;
- Interpretation and advice about internal organisational rules and procedures;
- Educating members about their compliance obligations;
- Drafting and communicating member training materials;
- Mediation of member disputes and handling of complaints;
- Reviewing internal compliance procedures and assisting with improvement;
- Prepare briefs and research when required for external legal counsel;
- Replying to complex correspondence;
- Problem solving and other general duties
**About you**
- tertiary qualification in law OR minimum 3 years' experience as a paralegal or experience working in claims/case management
- previous experience in a similar role would be highly beneficial
- excellent technical and MS Office skills
- strong analytical and negotiation skills
- exceptional attention to detail
- demonstrated ability to work autonomously and also collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
