**WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**
As the GM, Risk, Governance and Assurance, you will lead a team across Risk, Governance and Assurance. This newly created position reports directly to the Chief Governance Officer and plays a key role in providing strategic and operational leadership across the organisation.

You will:

- develop strategy and deliver the operating plan
- champion and implement a strategic approach to risk, governance and assurance programs within a heavily regulated and complex environment
- develop systems and reporting that inform organisational performance and decision making
- ensure our risk framework is of high quality and aligned to business needs and maturity
- monitor and review adopted business frameworks and practices for compliance and maintenance of applicable standards for good governance
- responsible for applicable statutory deliverables as defined by relevant legislation (PGPA Act and other legislative frameworks)
- ensure that the team delivers sustainable, consistent, client-focused, quality services
- ensure decisions are made based on a good understanding of the legislative functions and obligations, policies strategy, risk profile and in consideration of our operating context
- form strong partnerships with stakeholders to promote the value of good governance and ensure compliance responsibilities are shared across the organisation
- drive a culture of continuous improvement to enhance management capability and compliance outcomes while balancing risk and innovation.

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**
To be successful in this role, you will be a performance-driven and improvement-oriented leader with a natural ability to build collaborative relationships. You will be well regarded for your leadership style and ability to continuously improve and build fit-for-purpose programs that support strong governance practices.

Your background will demonstrate your:

- depth of experience within a corporate services and/or public sector environment
- extensive experience translating requirements from legislation into business practices and processes
- highly developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, including the ability to provide concise advice and recommendations
- strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to maintain and build multi-level relationships
- track record of delivering measurable business results to support the achievement of business objectives
- excellent communication skills including writing reports, policies and training programs
- superior conflict resolution skills and the capacity to handle difficulties in a calm and positive manner.

Ideally, you will be tertiary qualified in Business, Commerce, Corporate Governance or similar.
