**About the role**

We're looking for a **Software Tester** to join a key delivery squad working on life insurance enhancements for a leading financial services organisation. This role will suit someone who is confident with API testing, comfortable working alongside senior engineers, and able to operate effectively in a structured, fast-moving environment.

You'll be joining a project with a solution already in place no framework setup required. Your focus will be on ensuring quality through functional testing, API validation, and supporting a strong delivery cadence.

**Responsibilities**
- Design and execute test plans for RESTful and SOAP APIs, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.
- Develop automated API test scripts using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI, or similar frameworks.
- Validate API functionality, reliability, performance, and security, including edge cases and error handling.
- Create and maintain test data and mock services to support various testing scenarios.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA team to understand requirements and ensure API quality from early stages.
- Perform regression, integration, and system testing across multiple environments and services.
- Leverage CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated API tests into the development workflow.
- Log, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
- Conduct API documentation reviews to ensure accuracy and usability for consumers and stakeholders.

**E**ssential requirements (tech & soft skills)**
- Proven experience as a **Software Tester or QA Engineer** (ideally 6+ years)
- Strong experience with **API testing using Postman**:

- Solid understanding of **functional testing** principles in backend or service-oriented environments
- Ability to work with existing **automation frameworks** no need to build or maintain, but confident in using them for regression and integration testing
- Experience working with **Agile teams** and coordinating across technical and business teams
- Experience in **financial services**, especially **insurance or life products**:

- Familiarity with tools like **JIRA**, **Confluence**, or **TestRail**:

- A working knowledge of **Kafka** or event-driven systems (helpful, not essential)
