Human Resources Officer National Convention Centre

We are looking for a Human Resources Officer to join our team. The role supports both the Crowne Plaza Hotel and the National Convention Centre Canberra.
We offer a flexible work environment and are open to filling this role as either full time or part time.
This is a fixed term 12-month position to cover maternity leave.
Every day is different at IHG, but you’ll mostly be:
- Empowering our colleagues through our IHG HR initiatives
- Promoting a positive team culture ensuring our colleagues deliver a unique guest experience
- Deliver Human Resource generalist advice
- Support the HR Manager in providing coaching and advice for performance management, industrial relations and hotel policy
- Supporting Responsible Business initiatives, including the Work, Health and Safety Committee
- Timely and accurate planning, recording and tracking of activities across the colleague life cycle
- Managing the HR administration tasks, including contracting, systems set up, and updating colleague files
- Creating programmes to foster a positive work environment for every single employee
What We need from you:
- Experience in Human Resources, or a management role within a hotel
- Knowledge of Modern Awards, an understanding of the Hospitality Industry General Award preferable
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines, demonstrating accuracy in all work
- Proven ability to flex and adapt to varying situations, problem solving
- Strong administrative skills
