We are seeking a Communications Advisor for an initial 6-month contract with 2 x 12-month potential extensions. This role will be based in Nerang, with hybrid work from home arrangements.

**About the Role**

In the role of Communications Advisor, you will provide strategic community and stakeholder management services to technical and professional staff for community engagement, media relations, issues management, public affairs and stakeholder relationship management.

Accountabilities include:

- Provide communication advice and support to project stakeholders in media and issues management, crisis communications, risk assessment and reporting, community engagement, and communication strategies.
- Prepare project communications materials such as media releases, newsletters, speech notes, and more.
- Be accountable for crisis and reputation management strategies, identifying key risks involved with departmental actions.
- Provide advice on communications strategies for difficult stakeholders and critical conversations related to the project.
- Develop stakeholder management strategies and consult with a wide range of interest groups.
- Coordinate community and stakeholder engagement activities for infrastructure projects in the region.
- Develop, plan, and manage key communication activities, such as road commissioning, launches, and media opportunities.
- Provide training and support to enhance communication skills and improve relationships with key stakeholders and the community.
- Develop and implement communication strategies, activities, procedures, and policies to achieve the project's strategic objectives.
- Ensure compliance with departmental and regional policies, legislation, and governance obligations.
