**About the Role**:
The Manager, Early Years Policy provides state-wide leadership in research, education design, and program evaluation to enhance early years teaching and learning. This role involves:
- Leading the development of innovative early years practices and programs.
- Managing projects aimed at improving early years education, such as the Phonics Screening Check and Numeracy Guidebooks.
- Promoting evidence-based best practices and tools to support educational leaders.
- Conducting detailed research on pedagogical developments and trends.
- Collaborating with the Curriculum and Learning Division to ensure effective practices are implemented and addressing the needs of Aboriginal learners.
The role focuses on aligning with relevant frameworks and regulations to achieve critical policy outcomes and improve early years education across the state.
**Special Conditions and Eligibility**:
Applicants must be either currently registered or able to be registered to teach in South Australia. If not permanent with the Education Department, applicants must meet the department’s minimum employment requirements before taking up an appointment.
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
STL3: $145,545 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation.
