**About us**

Direct Care Australia is an Aged Care, Mental Health and Disability community support provider across Adelaide, SA.

We support people with both high and complex support needs.

Activity type: domestic assistance, respite, social support and personal care.

**About the Role**

You will have experience supporting people with aged related and disability support needs.

We provide support to people, including children with a wide range of disabilities, including physical, mental health and complex care support.

The role will see you on the front-line providing daily support to persons with a physical and/or intellectual disability and/or with age-related support needs.

The Support Worker role may involve Manual Handling, Use of Lifts and Hoists, Medication administration, Community and Social access, Transportation, and Personal care.

Shifts range from a minimum of 2-hours shift length in local suburbs.

A reliable vehicle and availability across Mon - Sun is required.

**Essential Criteria**
- Preferred Cert III or IV in Disability/Individual Support/Aged Care
- Registered Nurses and/or Enrolled Nurses also encouraged to apply
- Medication Administration Certificate (preferred)
- Work experience in Disability or Aged Care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable and flexible
- Current full driver's license and a reliable vehicle
- Comprehensive car insurance
- Current First Aid/CPR & Manual handling certificates
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- National Criminal History Check
- Smart phone required for rostering purposes and service delivery

Also MUST have the following:

- Ability to provide person-centred and consumer-directed care
- Availability to work across 7 days including passive and active night shifts
- Demonstrated experience working with moderate to high challenging behaviours
- Excellent written and spoken language skills and thorough case-noting experience
- An ability to understand, listen, and communicate with people who have limited verbal communication capabilities or who have English as a second language

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $26.00 - $37.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
