This role sits within the Network Operations and Emergency Management Team at NSW Telco Authority

**About the team**
An opportunity has become available for a Telecommunications Intelligence Analyst to join the Network Operations and Emergency Management team within NSW Telco Authority. This critical role will be responsible for supporting decision-making processes at the tactical, operational and strategic level.

In this role, you will work on the preparation for and prevention of emergencies, including developing, implementing, and improving data and information. You will also undertake projects and research activities that enhance the capability and performance of telecommunications operations. In the prevention, preparation, response and recovery phases of emergencies, you will provide critical advice in often high-pressured situations to senior stakeholders, whilst remaining calm and considered. You will excel under pressure and will be proficient in analysing operational intelligence and solving problems.

The role is also responsible for providing geospatial support, technical and implementation recommendations for the Network Operations and Emergency Management Team including supporting the business unit’s diverse business operations.

**Your day-to-day**:

- Supporting the Telecommunications Emergency Management Unit includes being available as a part of an on-call roster to respond to actual and potential significant telecommunications service interruptions in NSW.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and integration of strategic and operational plans and report on progress and identify trends to enable the development of response plans.
- Process information into actionable intelligence, including collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to produce timely and accurate assessments for decision-maker
- Monitoring and assessment of information sources relevant to the intelligence function to identify potential trends or issues.
- The collection, transformation, maintenance and analysis of corporate geospatial data.
- Participate in and contribute to the undertaking of emergency operations, reviews and debriefs, coordination forums, and operational exercises, which will include undertaking research and preparing procedures, situation reports and briefings.
- Identifying, analysing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets & visualizing data using tools like PowerBI / Tableau / Excel.
- Please note this role will be a designated security assessed position, and the successful applicant will be required to undergo an assessment for a national security assessment
