Talent International are currently recruiting for an experienced Principal Project Officer to work for one of our NSW Government clients based in Parramatta. This position is an initial 6 month contract with the view to be extended. The position is paying an hourly rate between $75.00 - 85.00 per hour plus superannuation.
**Primary purpose of the role**:
To Lead a team to manage, design and implement a range of projects in line with the directorate'sresponsibilities, which improve FACS service delivery or operations and contribute to better outcomes for individuals, families, groups and communities.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead a team responsible for designing, developing, managing and reporting on project management strategies and deliverables, including implementing or overseeing coordination of projectimplementation to deliver effective business unit outcomes and meet client service delivery needs.
- Initiate and enable the development of key projects to ensure good business and client outcomes.
- Lead best practice through the use of project management methodologies to deliver quality outcomes.
- Manage the review of the business unit's project deliverables to enable the organisation to deliver services in a cost effective manner and position to meet current and future requirements.
- Lead the timely preparation of a range of project-related documents for key stakeholders as required, including status updates, reports, budgets and discussion papers to manage the flow of information.
- Provide proactive and evidence-based expert advice and reports to the business unit leader, Director and/or the Executive Director to ensure matters that impact business unit current and future decision-making are considered.
- Seek out and actively manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships based on open and regular discussions and feedback, ensuring effective interface between program development, planning, service design, issue identification and policy implementation.
- Lead and drive team management, work planning, coaching and professional development initiatives to align resources and deliver priorities.
**Essential Requirements**:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- NSW Government project experience would be preferred
- Experience Providing leadership and expert advice in an environment characterised by conflicting priorities and multiple stakeholders
- The ability to maintain oversight of project progress and identifying issues and risks in consultation with stakeholders and staff.
- Must be available for an immediate start.
