The Commercial Specialist is a member of the State Support Team, providing direct support to the State Manager and State Performance Leads in commercial analysis in the state. This position plays a key role in the state’s budget and planning activities, driving business improvement to ensure state targets are reached.
The role requires a solid understanding of strategic and operational priorities and strong commercial business acumen to monitor and review state-based performance data to inform state planning.
Your Impact;
Providing insights to support strategy development and business planning through budgeting, forecasting and target setting.
Modelling, business case preparation and presenting, plus interpreting and reporting operational results.
Lead the State’s annual operations business and budget planning cycle, working closely with the State Manager to deliver a comprehensive plan, including agreed priorities and targets, which align with the National Plan.
Provide commercial support to centres and marketing strategies for the State.
Be accountable for the management and acquittal of any grants where applicable.
Perform root cause analysis and drive appropriate improvement actions in collaboration with the State Manager and the State Support Team
Always follow all Health and Safety related workplace policies and procedures for controlling risks and adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures.
You’ll bring to the table;
Hold a tertiary qualification in business or related field and /or relevant experience.
Essential is experience of managing business processes/ projects with multiple stakeholders.
Desirable is business management experience in a line or centre-based role in multi-site or occupancy driven operations, within Retail / Hospitality / Childcare.
Highly advanced excel and financial modelling skills
SAP BI experience desirable but not essential
