The City of Rockingham is located 40km south of the Perth CBD and is one of the fastest growing local governments in the south metropolitan area. In this role you will lead a dedicated team, responsible for the coordination of agendas and minutes, statutory compliance responsibilities, civic functions, and other key City documentation including policy, local laws etc.
We are looking for a person who:
- Can lead and effectively manage a small team.
- Is familiar with interpreting legislation with a good understanding of the legislative framework governing Local Governments in Western Australia.
- Has sound research and analytical skills enabling interpretation of information.
- Can produce well-constructed and informative reports, pitched to a level appropriate for a busy local government.
- Has strong computer literacy, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite of products, intranet and web based software.
Has well developed time management and organisational skills
Previous experience in Local Government is essential for this role, preferably in a governance or senior administration role.
- Ability to understand relevant Acts and Regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake research, problem solve complex issues, and develop clear and concise briefing notes and discussion papers with supporting recommendations.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Council decision making process, agendas and minutes.
- Highly developed skills in people management.
We are offering a gross salary range of **$96,571 to $102,120** per annum depending on experience and qualification and:
- 11% superannuation and the opportunity to co-contribute a further 5%.
