**Full Job Description**

**Recreation Co-ordinator required **to create, identify, and implement recreational activities in particular for our NDIS clients. The IDS recreation program includes overnight camps, activities, and dinners, including weekend, daytime, and nighttime activities.

Independent Disability Services (IDS), Head office based in Carlton and deliver services across Greater Melbourne and recreation activities across Victoria and Interstate.

**The Role**

IDS Recreation Co-ordinator will be responsible with the support from the IDS team - to implement and identify opportunities for clients to participate in recreational activities to ensure that they have every opportunity to live a meaningful & fulfilling life, with choice & control.

Able to roster DSW and staff into shifts and advise of the activities.

Schedule the activities for 3 months in advance.

Excellent skills in Data entry and Microsoft. ( Having used Visual Care is a great advantage)

**Responsibilities include**:

- New clients coming into IDS
- Liaise with Support Coordinators for the funding details
- Complete the Service Agreement, Consent to share, and Care Plan for Rec Activities only.
- Construct Flyers and complete a monthly Newsletter containing the activities that have been in action.
- Identify recreation activities and facilitate end-to-end oversight of the co-ordination of IDS recreational activities
- Ability to think on your feet and avoid any dangerous situations or fallouts
- Providing clear instructions for Recreation support workers on every aspect of the activity including key contacts, risks, abilities, and schedule
- Work as a team to ensure that activities are successful
- Ensure the activities have a risk assessment
- Promoting and strengthening communication and social skills and positive relationships between clients
- Empowering clients to live their best life
- Motivating staff and clients
- Managing shopping and petty cash and reconciling the accounts for the activity
- Working within a budget.
- Co-ordinate feedback from activities after each activity.

- Resourceful - Having the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties.

The role will provide IDS's Clients with opportunities for choice, self-advocacy and participation in facilitating access to the community and activities.

- Fully COVID Vaccinated
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Two relevant and professional reference checks ( no longer than 12 months currency )
- First Aid and CPR certificate ( current)
- Driver’s License, your own vehicle and full Comprehensive Insurance
- Manual Handling (Desired)
- Cert III Individual Support (Desired)
- Cert III / Cert IV Disability (Desired)
- Cert III Aged Care (Desired)
