**About the School**: The Ipswich State High School is a school of 2000 students and is steadily growing. Our school vision of Respect and Responsibility is enacted through our High Expectations behaviour framework and encouraged in everything we do, building positive relationships within the school and the local community. The successful applicant for this position will possess strong organisational and relational capabilities to Line Manage a number of Case Managers, and to lead school-wide agendas to lift student outcomes.
We have a number of signature programs that have been developed over time that make us the first choice of schooling in Ipswich and the surrounding areas. Designated DoE Programs of Excellence allow enrolments from outside of catchment (STEM, Dance, Rugby League, Hair and Beauty and Construction and Horticulture). The school is also a Mature Age School allowing older students to complete their schooling; and 30% of the students identify as being either Aboriginal or Torres Strait, or Maori or Pacific Islander background, with more than 10% being born overseas. There is an increasing number of refugee enrolments who are provided with tailored EALD support. The school is an accredited International Student Program School and regularly hosts both long-term student exchanges and short-term study tours.
**About the Role**: Responsibilities within this role include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage case managers as part of the student support team, to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with a disability as needed.
- Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with a disability.
- Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
- Provide, support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments.
- Support classroom teachers and other school staff to access departmental or other external specialist services, professional development, and supports as needed.
- Participate in school decision making processes as well as professional development to contribute to school goals, vision and planning.
- Implement and coordinate school-wide systems including data systems to monitor students with disability and record the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability.
- Form and maintain partnerships with parents, government agencies, and community groups to support students with disability.
- Set High Standards for staff and student performance.
