Works will be long term, based in our Rivervale office, WA with 4 up to 5 direct reports, this opportunity represents a chance to develop your skills within a growing team. Construction activities require regular short-term travel to remote areas of WA and occasionally interstate. You will have access to career development opportunities.
**The Opportunity**
The Communications Supervisor will be responsible for implementation of a wide variety of project Communications Packages including:
- Installation and testing of Communications Equipment and Systems in accordance with design specifications and standards.
- Planning of works and execution of works in accordance with the Schedule.
- Management and training of Communications technical staff including mentoring of apprentices.
- Advise the Engineering and Management teams of design constructability, planning and cost estimates.
**Key responsibilities include.**
- Supervision of personnel in a safe and professional manner, identify and advise on project personnel requirements and training needs for Communication Technical Staff. Planning day to day activities for direct reports including onsite training and mentoring of communications technicians, apprentices, and junior technicians.
- Design support - assisting the Engineering team to develop and execute Communications Systems designs.
- Estimating - assist the management team with estimating and planning new works.
- Construction works:
- Supervise and undertake construction activities to ensure the work is completed safely and quality of construction work is of a high standard
- Obtain and hold permits where required to undertake the works.
- Ensure works and completed in accordance with UGL and Client Standard’s, Policies and Procedures.
- Change management.
- Completion of inspection and testing activities and management of quality records on site.
- Management of construction consumable materials.
- Identification of the personnel, plant and equipment required to execute the works.
- Assist with setup and completion of Factory Acceptance testing of communication systems.
**Requirements to be successful.**
- Cert III in Telecommunications or equivalent.
- 10+ years in telecommunications and/or construction industry
- Relevant Construction Card (e.g., White Card)
- Drivers Licence
- ACMA Open Registration Cabling Licence with endorsements in Structured Cabling, Coaxial Cabling and Optical Fiber Cabling.
- Ability to pass a police clearance check
- SCADA/PLC installation and testing experience (desirable)
- Security System - CCTV and/or access control (desirable)
- LTE installation and testing (desirable)
- Rail Industry Worker Card (RIW) - (desirable)
- First Aid (desirable)
- Security Licence (preferred)
- Confined Space Entry (preferred)
- High Risk Licence EWP (preferred)
- Working at Heights (preferred)
- Microwave installation and testing
- Fibre termination and testing
- Experience in leading teams
- DC Power Systems
