**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design and develop secure network architectures aligned with industry best practices and relevant regulatory obligations.
- Assess security vulnerabilities and threats recommending and implementing controls and mitigation strategies.
- Advise on the selection, deployment, and configuration of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other network security tools.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, standards and other key documents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network engineers, system administrators, security and business analysts.
- Lead and mentor team members.

**Critical Skills**:

- Experience as a Security Architect or similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in network security architecture development and definition.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills as well as the ability produce high quality written work.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, technologies, and protocols (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, encryption). ⁠
- Experience working with public cloud (AWS, Azure) and related technologies.
- Experience with security frameworks (e.g. NIST CSF, CIS Controls).
- Understanding of ISO 27001/27002, ITIL, and COBIT frameworks
- Sound understanding of perimeter security controls such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, network access controls, and network segmentation.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

**Desirable**:

- Current security clearance or a willingness to obtain a clearance of Baseline or higher.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, SABSA or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
