**Who are we looking for?**

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Research Communications Lead to join Marketing and Communication, Chancellery Division.

The Research Communications Lead supports QUT’s reputation as a research-intensive university through the delivery of a research communications service. This role manages a Communications Officer and undertakes strategic and operational communications activities across QUT. The Research Communications Lead collaborates closely with QUT’s research community to plan and implement and assess communications, marketing and promotional activities.

**About the Chancellery Division**

Chancellery Divisionis responsible for strategy, including Indigenous strategy, government relations and policy, assurance and risk, international, marketing and communications, and business development. The Chancellery Division is led by the Vice-Chancellor and President.

**About the Department**

The Marketing and Communications Department is responsible for:

- Building and protecting QUT’s brand and reputation
- Engaging and recruiting future students
- Ensuring communications from QUT are effective and of high professional standard.

As well as professional services provided to the university community, the Department is responsible for a variety of corporate communication functions and oversees relevant policies, protocols and governance arrangements.

**What you need to succeed**

As a strong communicator, you will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and communicate the shared QUT Values in your approach to work.

You will demonstrate:

- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a postgraduate qualification, preferably in a communications-based discipline, in conjunction with relevant communications and media experience.
- Experience in proactively identifying internal and external communication opportunities and issues, by developing and implementing innovative communication strategies for diverse local, national and global audiences.
- Demonstrated, excellent verbal and written communication skills, including capacity to write for a range of audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in the planning, development, management and evaluation of a range of communications channels, including websites.
- Understanding of digital platforms and communication strategies.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills in a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated ability to embrace and participate in change and promote continuous improvement.
- Ability to actively participate in and contribute to maintaining an effective safe and healthy workplace.
