Our Federal Government client is seeking a
**General Service Officer** who can undertake maintenance of urban open space areas.

**About the role**:

- Work individually or as part of a team of employees engaged in horticultural maintenance and cleaning operations.
- Shrub bed maintenance.
- Plant trees, shrubs and floral displays.
- Mow, mostly using ride on machinery.
- Cleaning activities such as rubbish removal and toilet cleaning.
- Tree Surgery work - use of chainsaws, elevated work platforms and woodchippers
- General maintenance work in parks, sports grounds and other urban facilities.
- Conduct pre-start checks, operate and carry out basic maintenance on horticultural and cleaning equipment.
- Undertake all work tasks in accordance with Place Management’s horticultural maintenance and cleaning service standards and the _Work Health and Safety Act 2011_.

**Ideally, you will have**:

- Ability to gain on the job experience in horticultural maintenance and cleaning operations and the use and maintenance of equipment used in the delivery of these services.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team while carrying out horticultural maintenance and cleaning activities.
- Ability to use mobile devices for reporting and a commitment to meeting TCCS customer’s needs.
- A demonstrated understanding of the TCCS Values.
- Ability to work in a safe manner, to identify and report risks, and undertake training to gain a knowledge of safe work practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) and Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) requirements. A commitment to workplace health and safety practices while working in a team or alone.
