**Role**:
The Grounds and Maintenance Assistant, working under the direction of the Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining the College¿s grounds. Through a proactive and reactive approach, the Grounds and Maintenance Assistant will ensure that the College provides a safe teaching and learning environment for students, staff, parents and visitors.
**Responsibilities**:
- Undertaking general grounds work and minor maintenance works.
- Maintaining the College¿s grounds and garden beds to a high aesthetic level.
- Working through a schedule of regular tasks and maintenance audits.
- Ensuring security is maintained within a work area.
- Working as part of a team to ensure that all OH&S requirements are met.
- Assisting the Facilities team with the maintenance and management of the College grounds.
- Demonstrating excellent customer service skills in order to communicate with all stakeholders, including students, parents, staff and goods and services providers.
- An ability to work independently with confidence and initiative, including prioritising workloads.
- An ability to work as part of a team and contribute towards achieving the goals and objectives of the College.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.

**Location Profile**:
Mount Ridley P-12 College was founded in 2009 and is located in the City of Hume, one of Melbourne's rapid growth corridors. Situated on an 11 hectare site along Hampton Street in Craigieburn and approximately 26 kilometres north of the CBD, the College includes provision for both primary and secondary students and will have an enrolment figure of approximately 2850 students across the whole College in 2024. The current College's Student Family Occupation (SFO) index is 0.6 whilst our Student Family Occupation and Education (SFOE) index is 0.5. Although these figures indicate a high level of family social disadvantage, increased funding levels provided by the Education Department aim to assist with raising the educational outcomes of our students.
The College has four Mini Schools:

- Junior Years (Years 5

- Middle Years (Years 8 and 9); and
- Senior Years (Years 10
- 12).
An extensive senior leadership team structure consisting of Principal Class members, Leading Teachers and Learning Specialists, assisted by Administration Staff, supports students, staff and families in each Mini School.
