
Communications and Events Coordinator

Outstanding opportunity for an APS 6 Communications and Events Professional to join a Canberra based Federal Government Agency. This is your chance to be part of an Outreach team within an agecy that has a positive global impact.
Reporting to the Director, one of the main responsibilities of this role will be to coordinate conference sponsorship and activate the required benefits such as branding recognition and booth display requirements. Some travel may be required.
Alongside a collaborative team, you will draft promotional content for digital channels and well as coordinate operations such as writing client database management, publication distribution, merchandise management and adhoc support as required.
This role will be offered as an initial 12 month labour hire contract, with the potential for extension. The role is based in Canberra, free parking available onsite, with flexibility to work from home 2 days per week. Excellent hourly rate negotiable within the band.
**Key Duties**:
- Coordinate sponsorship of, and attendance at, agricultural events (such as conferences), and, on occasion, represent the Agency as an exhibitor
- Work with the Outreach team to coordinate Agency-owned events such as workshops and other stakeholder events
- Work with the Outreach team to create, procure and storage manage collateral
- Draft promotional content for digital channels and events
- Develop and manage Outreach client database and coordinate publication distribution
- Provide secretarial support to the EO for quarterly Commission meetings
- Liaise with SMEs and conduct fact checking for all associated materials
- Follow procurement requirements for expenditure including seeking quotes and approvals
- Other adhoc support as required
