Leading Victorian Government client is looking for a Security Assurance Analyst in Melbourne for an initial 6 months contract + possible extension. APPLY NOW

**The Security Assurance Analyst is responsible for supporting in the following areas**:

- Defining a testing program (both manual and automated) with regular reporting on its progress
- Contribution to the development, implementation, and maintenance of second-line security assurance audits on a broad set of process and procedural controls affecting ICT, personnel, and facilities to provide findings and recommendations for action
- Designing and delivering reporting systems for the department which allow management to have visibility of the assurance program, and provide insights on a wide range of security indicators supporting compliance
- Developing concise performance reports that detail the scope, evidence, findings and recommendations to ensure upstream management can action in accordance with the priority of the risks they present
- Management of systems of documentation that support evidence collection and substantiation for future audit
- Identifying opportunities and evolving existing test plans that improve security assurance analysis and work flow
- Collaborating with internal and external auditors to facilitate assessments, maintain and collect evidence, and support compliance reporting
- Undertaking remediation (where appropriate) to manage security risks identified by security monitoring and audit activities
- Carrying through testing campaigns on staff that will include social engineering to verify overall level of awareness

**In carrying out these responsibilities, the Security Assurance Analyst will**:

- comply with audit management and testing frameworks and standards
- support corporate staff with best practice control audits and monitoring
- represent the Division in engagements with key stakeholders.
- contribute to the development of policies, security standards, and operating procedures
- provide authoritative advice on security recommendations to remediate compliance gaps identified
- support record keeping, information sharing and system improvement across the team and Division
- leverage code and tooling to automate repetitive assurance services where appropriate

**Specialist Expertise for Security Assurance**
- Proven ability to develop a variety of assurance tests across different controls to support an overall security assurance function affecting ICT technical services, personnel policies and facilities management
- Experience developing assurance and reporting solutions using scripts, code or tools to automate assurance activities
- Demonstrated experience developing compliance reports that support audit programmes, compliance performance, and posture improvement
- Knowledge of information security technologies (i.e. network defensive controls, access controls, risk and vulnerability assessment, investigative techniques, and authentication systems)
- Sound understanding of security frameworks and standards
