Program Support Manager

Operating from within the Water Act Initiatives business group, you will manage the successful delivery of the Rural Water Futures Program. This will include identifying and providing authoritative advice on program management issues and project delivery options; providing high-level Program submissions and reports for Government and Executive Management consideration; and managing all aspects of Program delivery including program planning and delivery, program reporting, risk management and governance.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Lead and manage the Rural Water Futures Program (RWF) Program Support Team, providing program management methodology, discipline, and expertise to realise program outcomes and achieve program benefits.
- Identify emerging issues and provide high level, expert, and authoritative advice to senior management on complex program management issues, to ensure the achievement of the RWF objectives.
- Oversite the delivery of RWF projects artefacts and using standard methodologies by establishing and maintaining a Program Management Plan, delivering the monthly Program report, managing Program risks and issues, budgets, contracts and maintaining risks and issues register, and leading and managing the Governance required to meet RWF objectives in a timely manner.
- Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of complex Program reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, and correspondence for consideration by senior management and executive management.
- Exercise judgement, authority and high level influence to effectively coordinate the management of divisional requirements and competing team priorities.
- Build and manage positive working relationships and partnerships with colleagues and with other levels of government, industry, and non-government organisations to achieve RWF outcomes and deliver on Government commitments.
- Represent the RWF vision and the department's vision, values and strategic agenda with clients, stakeholders, and external organisations and other State and Commonwealth agencies.
- Contribute to departmental resource prioritisation processes to deliver on RWF outcomes.
- Ensure a culture of service delivery and high performance amongst Program Support staff, which recognises the unique contribution of the individual, encourages personal and team development, and encourages an appropriate work/life balance.
- Mentor, coach and provide advice and guidance to Program Support staff while contributing to their professional development, including monitoring performance and development
- Ensure the team is sufficiently equipped with the necessary skills, capabilities and experience to perform to a high level in order to respond to service delivery requirements and deliverables.
- Other duties as directed and required.
