**Finance Officer (Payroll)**
**About the Role**:
Finance Officer (Payroll) is responsible for processing payroll, tax calculations and deductions for our amazing Disability Support Workers. You will be responsible for tracking and managing our company’s payroll data. You should have detailed knowledge of accounting and payroll procedures, familiarity with Labor legislation, and advanced mathematical skills.
**Tasks and duties**
- Run pay runs from our Client Management System Rosters (ShiftCare) into our accounting and business software (MYOB).
- Calculating superannuation, PAYG and Payroll Tax calculations and payments.
- Assisting with month-end and payroll reporting.
- Being a key point of contact for all payroll queries.
- Updating and maintaining payroll records.
- Setting up payment accounts for employees.
**Payroll**
- Payroll Processing - Accurately process weekly payroll across the SCHADS awards and ensure compliance. Ensure 100 employees are paid accurately and on time each fortnight.
- Perform quality audits and liaise with Managers to trouble-shoot and cross check timesheets.
- Award Interpretation - Confidently interpret awards to ensure all entitlements are correctly applied.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure seamless onboarding of new starters to ensure profiles and payments comply with legislation.
- Manage parental leave processes and Centrelink documentation.
- Process, monitor and report on employee leave entitlements.
- Maintaining and keeping accurate and complete payroll records for all employees.
**Invoicing**
- Preparing NDIS Service Agreements.
- Generating client invoices and receipts with efficiency and accuracy.
- Management of end-to-end process ensuring appropriate coding, approvals, reconciliation, and payment runs.
- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations.
**Personal qualities - what we’re looking for**:
- A person with inquisitive nature who can become our champion to fully utilise the interface between our Client Management Systems (Shift Care) and business systems and accounting systems.
- Identify and implement efficient systems of information management between worker rosters, timesheets, allowances and data exporting to payroll and client invoicing.
- A person not afraid to take the lead in troubleshooting problems and finding solutions.
- A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and ability to work independently when needed.
- Be a friendly, knowledgeable point of contact for workers and clients.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Qualification such as a Diploma of Payroll Services, Certificate IV in Payroll Administration, Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, Diploma of Accounting, or equivalent.
- 1 year of relevant payroll, finance or accounting work experience.
- Experience using payroll software.
**Skills**
- Excellent organisational skills.

- Good technical skills to use computers and software as required.
- Mathematical and numerical aptitude.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Prior payroll processing experience.
