**About the role**:
The General Manager
- Store Operations is a key member of the Officeworks Leadership team and is responsible for executing Officeworks strategy across the national store network. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role leads the Store Operations team (167 stores, over 8000 team members) and is responsible for developing and delivering objectives that are aligned with the Officeworks strategy and maximise sales and earnings whilst delivering a satisfactory return on capital.

Key responsibilities in the role include:

- Maximising profitability at store level by focusing on sales and earnings growth.
- Driving productivity improvements to reduce the cost of doing business (CODB) in stores.
- Ensuring the in-store offer is presented to a consistently high level and in line with Store Operations, Marketing and Merchandise standards.
- Ensuring a customer-centric culture that delivers great service to Officeworks customers in store and maximises net promoter score (NPS).
- Providing leadership to the Store Operations team in a manner that is aligned with the Officeworks culture and values
- Identifying skill gaps amongst Operations leaders and develop programs to build capability and retain / develop Officeworks’ best people
- Developing, coaching and supporting the Store Operations team to ensure the business has a motivated and engaged workforce
- Developing, monitoring, analysing and delivering financial and non-financial budgets for stores.
- Leading the Loss Prevention function to ensure there are appropriate controls in place to minimise shrinkage, maximise sales and, at all times, place team member safety and wellbeing at the forefront.

**About you**:

- Proven and extensive experience at an executive level, having led senior store operations teams across multi-site formats
- Demonstrated strong commercial thinking in retail or similar industry
- Experience leading leaders of leaders and leading large teams on a national scale
- Extensive experience in executing change across large organisations, preferably in an operations environment
- Experience and proven track record in influencing and negotiating with key business decision makers to ensure the Officeworks strategy is delivered
- Strong financial management skills and commercial acumen.
