Council’s Property Services Department plays a pivotal role in some of the most exciting community projects across the Moreton Bay Region.

Whether it’s acquiring land for a new Council infrastructure project, commercialising iconic buildings or managing a uniquely diverse property portfolio - a role in this Department offers anyone who is passionate about property, challenges and rewards that no other role can.

Council’s Property Services Department helps to contribute to 3 main strategic aims:

- **Secure property** - Property Services is a lynchpin in delivering crucial community projects by ensuring that sufficient land is acquired in a timely manner to ensure successful project completion.
- **Manage property** - Property Services manages a diverse range of commercial properties, from office buildings and retail shops right through to caravan parks and aerodromes. That’s not to mention our motor sports facilities and tourist attractions
- **Commercialise property** - Property Services aims to maximise revenue from its unique commercial property portfolio in order to fund important community projects.

**About our opportunity**

As our **_Principal Land Dealings Officer _**you will work within the Property Transactions team and be the team's 2IC - supporting and mentoring your team mates to ensure output of the team is technically correct and process compliant, with no formal direct reports.

You will have the opportunity to provide detailed technical advice and act as point of contact for land dealings related to Council’s property portfolio in accordance with legislative requirements, undertaking research as required on sensitive and complex matters.

You will prepare and review property dealings documentation, including Department of Resources forms, contracts of sale, commercial and retail leases, licences, consents, agreements and easements and the related lodgements and registrations.

This role is key in cross collaboration with a significant level of interaction across our council departments and also external to our organisation - so you will have keenly developed people skills and really thrive being a part of a dynamic team.
- You will have the opportunity to be a part of securing the vision for Council’s future infrastructure projects with land acquisition requirements in key growth areas_ such as the Morayfield South Emerging Community Area and on projects such as the Caboolture River Road upgrade - Grant Road to Morayfield Road.

**About you**

We are seeking someone who has applied and detailed knowledge of the _Acquisition of Land Act 1967_, _Land Act 1994_, _Local Government Act 2009_ & associated _Regulations_, Land _Title Act 1994_, _Planning Act 2016 _&_ associated Regulations and Duties Act 2001 _(all QLD) - this is really important as you will be a technical leader within the team and our broader organisation.

You will have detailed knowledge of the interpretation and enforcement of relevant legislation and industry standards relating to Council’s commercial and residential property portfolio - our work is diverse and challenging so we want to find someone who is excited by this.

Your seat at the table - you will have strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills in dealing with complex and sensitive property dealing - calm under pressure and always acting in line with our corporate values of integrity and respect, you will be a people person; bringing your extensive experience in building relationships and providing detailed property advice to internal and external stakeholders
