**Your key accountabilities

The core capability requirements for this role are:

- Provide liaison services between victims of crime, frontline police and Prosecution Services in relation to court proceedings, in compliance with the Charter of Victim's Rights, including aiding with the drafting of victim impact statements.
- Assist QPS members to communicate effectively with victims of crime and members of the local community by providing advice on trauma-informed, victim-centric practices.
- Advise, implement and manage problem solving approaches to bring about improved victim and community engagement.
- Research and prepare correspondence (eg Ministerial briefing notes, executive and departmental correspondence), and compile statistical returns as required.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with the community, victims of crime and stakeholders by participating in meetings, forums or events, and ensure the input of victim and stakeholder concerns in engagement strategies.
- Promote partnerships with community victim referral and support services, conduct needs assessments, facilitate victim referrals to appropriate support service organisations, and advise and assist community members and community groups to positively contribute to these partnerships for victims of crime.
- Contribute to training and orientation of police officers and staff members specific to the portfolio when required.

- This position involves the driving of police vehicles. The occupant of this position is required to hold a 'C' class driver's licence, or have the ability to acquire a driver's licence. Occasional inter and intra state travel is a requirement of this position.
