**Support Worker - Mental Health Focus**

**Position**: Support Worker (Psychosocial/Mental Health Specialization)
**Location**: Russell Lea, NSW 2046
**Pay Rate**: $31.46 per hour

**About the Role**
Are you passionate about empowering individuals to live their best lives? We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Support Worker to provide assistance to a client with psychosocial/mental health needs. This role involves supporting the client in accessing the community, performing daily activities, and providing encouragement to achieve their personal goals.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide 1:1 support for community access, including attending social and recreational activities.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as meal preparation and personal care prompting.
- Offer support for light yard maintenance tasks as needed.
- Build a trusting and professional relationship to encourage independence and growth.
- Ensure all interactions respect the client’s dignity, preferences, and rights.

**What We’re Looking For**
- Experience working with individuals with psychosocial/mental health needs.
- A caring and patient individual with a person-centered approach.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with clients and their support networks.
- Ability to assist with practical tasks like meal preparation, community outings, and basic home maintenance.
- Flexibility to work weekday shifts as per the client’s preferences.

**Qualifications & Requirements**
- National Police Check
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Relevant qualifications in Mental Health, Community Services, or similar fields (preferred but not mandatory).
- Driver’s License
- Fully insured vehicle

**Work Schedule**
- 3 hours/week: Personal care prompting (e.g., meal preparation).
- 4 hours/week: Community and social activities.
- 4 hours/month: Yard maintenance.
