Are you a passionate, creative, and patient art teacher or art therapist who loves working with individuals with disabilities? Wonder Care Australia invites you to lead our new monthly Creative Connections art program in Toowoomba - designed to build self-expression, skills, and social engagement for NDIS participants.

About the Role

We are seeking a vibrant, empathetic, and reliable art teacher to facilitate fun and therapeutic art sessions for participants of diverse ages and abilities. Sessions run once a month (duration 1-1.5 hours), supported by staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and deliver inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable art activities (materials provided)
- Promote self-expression, fine motor development, and community participation
- Encourage a supportive and safe space for all participants
- Collaborate with support workers and ensure NDIS documentation is maintained
- Adapt plans creatively to suit participant needs and group dynamics

We’re Looking for Someone Who Is:

- Young, energetic, and approachable
- Passionate about inclusion, creativity, and wellbeing
- Experienced or interested in working with children or individuals with disabilities
- Patient, comforting, and enthusiastic
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with support staff
- Flexible with a can-do attitude

Essential Requirements
- Valid First Aid Certification
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Qualifications or experience in Art Teaching or Art Therapy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Sample Art Activities Include:

- Watercolour, acrylic, and dot painting
- Sensory crafts like clay, slime, and sand art
- Mask making, scrapbooking, collage
- Collaborative murals and community art

Program Themes Include:
From “Paint to Music” and “Cultural Expression” to “Nature Textures” and “Sculpture with Recyclables” - you'll have freedom to shape sessions with approval from the WCA director.
