**The Role**
- Lead compliance and assurance activities on inventory and asset holdings and practices utilising mandated procedures and reports.
- Contribute to the development of policies and associated programs that contribute to the assurance of Defence's inventory management practices, procedures and systems.
- Generate responses to correspondence, briefs and reports for management.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and key stakeholders and actively participate in team work and group activities.
- Compare and analyse compliance and assurance outputs against policy, procedures and best practice and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
- Interpret and comply with legislative, policy, regulatory frameworks and organisational objectives.
- Manage the coordination of external and internal audit agencies' activities, including the facilitation of site visits.
**About our Team**
Working as part of a small team, you will use stocktake experiences to schedule, develop procedures and then oversee the execution of assurance programs within Defence.
A critical part of the role is the ability to extract data from inventory systems and to utilise Excel to manage the data and develop complex reports that provide both Defence and the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) with outcomes that form an important part of the annual reported Defence logistics assurance requirements.
The Commodity Assurance Manager is responsible for Planning, coordinating and reporting on Inventory Sampling activities. You will be required to work with internal Defence stakeholders to meet policy requirements and facilitate the resolution of issues.
You will also act as the single Point of Contact for all Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) and additional information requests and will also be responsible for ensuring that all evidence for the requested listings is received from Defence stakeholders, checked and provided to the ANAO within required timeframes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills is essential as you will be required to work with both warehouse and governance staff from multiple sites across Defence and you will represent Defence at the technical level with the ANAO.
