Accounts Payable Officer Opportunity working for local government, for a minimum of 6 months on an ongoing temporary assignment

Our local government client is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their team for an ongoing temporary opportunity for a minimum of 6 months.
Working as part of a friendly and established AP team you will be responsible for
- Match, batch and coding invoices
- Statement reconciliations
- Month creditor reporting
- Negotiate with suppliers and internal departments to eliminate payment delays
- Setting up new suppliers
- Ad hoc AP duties as required
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of an accounts payable function.
- Previous experience in accounts payable or a relevant financial administrative role.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Sound verbal and written communication skills.
- Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent formal education/training.
