The roleThe Principal Public Health Officer is responsible for the expert design, coordination, implementation and evaluation of state-wide immunisation initiatives to promote and improve immunisation coverage. Key responsibilities include:

- provide specialised strategic advice and analysis on state and national matters across a range of issues in relation to the immunisation program in Queensland.
- provide specialist expertise, clinical leadership and judgement to lead and manage complex immunisation projects based on analysis of data and current research.
- provide high level professional advice to senior management, partners and other stakeholders to influence the strategic planning and delivery of complex preventive health interventions and service delivery models.
- lead collaborative and consultative processes with relevant stakeholders to enhance the delivery of immunisation interventions and build preventative health capacity.
- provide advanced clinical leadership in improving the quality and management of immunisation data in Queensland.

- ability to provide specialised level knowledge, expertise and skills in the implementation of public health initiatives of statewide importance.
