A well-known, **Federal Government Department** is looking to engage an experienced **Cyber Security Assurance and Audit Specialist **to join a growing, innovative team based in **Canberra, ACT** The **Cyber Security Assurance and Audit Specialist **will be responsible in conducting and managing reviews in accordance with the department’s ICT Assurance Work Program (ICTAWP), ICT Assurance Charter (ICTA) and delivering level two management review services within the Department. The successful **Cyber Security Assurance and Audit Specialist **will secure a 12 month contract plus a **2 x 12 month** extension options partnered with generous hourly rates.

The successful **Cyber Security Assurance and Audit Specialist **will be responsible for, but not limited to.
- Providing assurance on the department’s ICT controls effectiveness to manage organisational risks and enable the achievement of business objectives, and
- Contributing to the development of organisational strategies that address the evolving business risk and information control requirements.
- Monitoring environmental and market trends and assesses any impact on organisational strategies, benefits and risks.
- Developing information assurance policy, standards and guidelines.
- Delivering a trusted and value-added service to continuously strengthen and improve the ICT risk management and control framework.
- Driving adoption of and adherence to policies and standards. Ensures that architectural principles are followed, requirements are defined, and rigorous security testing is applied. Ensures that accreditation processes support and enable organisational objectives.

The successful **Cyber Security Assurance and Audit Specialist **will have experience in the following.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Cyber Security Assurance and Audit Specialist and working in information security audit, assurance and compliance roles
- Demonstrated experience with coordinating and completing cross-functional assurance activities, including design and operating effectiveness assessments.
- Ability to record all required tasks in departments Risk and Compliance Management System in ERDMS.
- Sound understanding of the Information Security Manual and ACSC Essential Eight Maturity Model and industry cyber security frameworks
- Relevant qualifications and certifications i.e. information security and ICT assurance and audit domains, such as the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is beneficial
- Experience developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships in cyber security and networks branch.
