**Who We’re Looking For**

We’re on the lookout for a **Disability Support Worker** to support participants in their homes and out in the community. You’ll be working primarily with people with disabilities - including **psychosocial disabilities**, **minor physical disabilities**, **intellectual disabilities**, **ABI's**and **neurodivergence**.

We’re on the lookout for a support worker who brings more than just experience to the table — we want someone who’s genuinely compassionate, dependable, and emotionally intelligent.

The ideal support worker is that rare gem who blends warmth with skill. They’re patient, empathetic, and show deep respect for the people they support. They know how to build strong connections, empower independence, and honour individual choices — all while handling challenges with confidence, clarity, and care.

**Here are some tasks you may be engaging in with participants**:

- Providing 1:1 support in participants’ homes and the community including personal care, domestic support, community access and social inclusion.
- Assisting with tasks like attending appointments, grocery shopping, running errands, home organisation and daily routines
- Supporting emotional wellbeing, engagement, and social connection
- Encouraging independence and life skill development
- Working alongside support coordinators, allied health professionals and families
- Reporting, documentation, and working within individual care plans

**About You**

Experience supporting people with psychosocial disability, neurodivergence, or mental health challenges

Strong understanding of the NDIS Code of Conduct, Practice Standards, and reporting obligations
Confident writing clear, professional case notes and maintaining detailed records
Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal
Able to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and make sound decisions
Calm, adaptable, and skilled at de-escalating or responding in crisis situations
Trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centred in your approach
Respectful of boundaries, confidentiality, and participant choice

**Requirements (Must-Have)**
- Current **NDIS Worker Screening Check**:

- Current **First Aid & CPR Certificate** (or willing to obtain)
- Current **National Police Check/WWCC**(or willing to obtain)
- Valid driver’s licence + **own reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance**:

- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Access to computer with internet for ability to write and submit case notes after each shift

**Nice to Have (Bonus Points)**
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health, Community Services or similar
- Mental Health First Aid
- Experience with sensory sensitivities or executive functioning challenges
- Lived experience of disability, mental health or carer roles

**Pay & Conditions**
- **Employment Type**: Casual employee (on payroll)
- **Pay Range**:$32.88 - $44.59/hr + Super**:

- Based on SCHADS Award Level 1 to 2 casual rates (2025)
- Rate offered depends on **experience, qualifications, and duties performed**:

- Paid weekly or fortnightly via payroll
- Starting at approx. 8 **hours/week**, with opportunities to grow
- Ongoing supervision, debriefing, and team support included
