**Purpose of the Role**:
The Deputy Construction Manager for the PH Complex is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination and execution of the Powerhouse (PH) Complex construction activities, ensuring they are executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a construction management role, with a focus on powerhouse or complex construction.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.
- White Card
- C Class driver’s licence

**Experience**:

- Minimum 8 years’ experience in construction, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Extensive experience in tunnelling projects or underground construction.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.

**Required Competencies**:

- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methodologies and best practices.
- Proficiency coordinating construction activities, resources and schedules.
- Highly effective leadership and team management skills to guide and motivate construction teams.
- Familiarity with local and international safety regulations and standards in construction.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams, stakeholders, contractors and the client.
- Ability to identify and effectively address construction-related challenges.
- Sound decision-making skills to ensure project progress and compliance.
- Experience in managing construction budgets and financial resources.

**Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Underground Construction Manager[JS1] overseeing all construction activities within the PH complex, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and timeline standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to coordinate complex construction schedules, resources, and activities specific to the PH Complex.
- Ensure that construction activities within the PH Complex comply with safety regulations and industry standards, with a heightened focus on powerhouse facilities.
- Provide dedicated leadership and guidance to construction teams working on the PH Complex, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
- Implement and oversee quality control processes within the PH Complex, ensuring construction meets the specific requirements of powerhouse facilities.
- Facilitate effective communication tailored to the PH Complex context between project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Address and resolve construction-related conflicts or issues within the PH Complex that may arise during project execution.
- Assist in monitoring construction budgets and expenditures specific to the PH Complex, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with construction activities within the PH Complex.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in construction operations, with a focus on the PH Complex.
