This role directly supports Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) Retail Product Business, and reports directly to the Head of Product Risk Governance WPB. The purpose of the position is to support the Head of Product Risk Governance to enable and validate that colleagues within WPB Retail Products deliver best in class products, propositions and processes to all our customers, colleagues and the Bank itself whilst mitigating associated risks that surround them.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Enforcing robust adherence to controls and risk governance across all Retail Products (Secured Lending, Unsecured Lending, Deposits, FX and Payments) provided to our distribution channels (Proprietary and Third Party)
- Identify & implement strategies to mitigate risks in Retail Product sales and operations processes.
- Ensuring all stakeholders have visibility of key risks and remediation activity.
- Continuously improving the control and monitoring of risk, including behaviours and risk culture
- Communicating and monitoring risk appetite in line with business requirements.
- Conducting high quality and efficient reviews of our control performance.
- Facilitating process and controls remediation where required.
- Raising awareness and understanding of risks, controls and risk management.
- Support all Retail Product regulatory programmes
- Complete Control Monitoring activities for relevant controls to the WPB Retail Product Business

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Ten years’ experience in Risk and control Management, ideally in a retail product environment
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Ability to present complex issues confidently and concisely to Senior Management using simple language
- Comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (risk, regulatory, political, competitors etc.).
- Outstanding relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills with experience of positive, challenging interactions with senior executives across multiple functions.
