**Project Overview**:
Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.

The M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.

**Job Summary**:
As Civil Designer, you will plan, develop, and quality check civil design work, produce 3D models, drawings and documentation for a project, and take-off quantities for estimating.
- This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership_

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Prepares 2-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings and modeling of earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing from which detailed design 3-D CAD models and/or construction drawings are completed
- Prepares portions of 3-D CAD design model under the supervision of experienced civil/structural designers
- Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by others in the group and by material suppliers, as assigned
- Prepares bulk material quantity takeoffs and material requisitions for materials applicable to civil/structural
- Works with designers in other disciplines in the overall assignment to coordinate designs
- Answers questions from client or construction group on design for civil/structural
- Compiles, maintains, and accesses job drawing files, records, and drawing controls, as instructed

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Typically a University Hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience

**Required Knowledge and Skills**:

- Knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
- Experience in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.

Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
