A Head of Asset Management is required to build and lead the asset management function in managing the operational and financial performance of a rapidly growing portfolio of assets. This will require asset management strategy development to cater to the portfolio’s growth. The growth is driven by both greenfield development and acquisition of operating or under construction assets. Currently the portfolio has two operating solar farms, one operating BESS with two BESS projects under construction and two greenfield development BESS projects. Other sites/projects are under consideration for development or acquisition, mainly more solar and BESS, but pumped hydro and green hydrogen are also longer-term targets.

The business is the Australian operations of a large, listed company pursuing a technology driven decarbonization strategy that focuses on investments in renewable energy assets and new energy technologies, trading and supply of energy as well as demand and portfolio management solutions.

The Australian business has an ambitious growth target with an active buy and build strategy, which includes development of projects in solar, battery and pumped hydro energy storage as well as the acquisition of existing renewable energy generation and storage assets. They are currently trading and have applied for an electricity retail license for CI& customers.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Taking responsibility for contract management, including financing agreements, power purchase agreements, connection agreements, O&M agreements and insurance policies.
- Building and leading the function as required to match the growth of the portfolio.
- Monitoring and maintaining compliance with applicable laws, industry regulations and authorizations (incl. generator registration and DA), as well as the OH&S policy and the OEMP (Operational Environmental Management Plan).
- Acting as the key contact point for project stakeholders including the Landlord, community and local authority.
- Responsibility for management and oversight of O&M/vegetation contractors, including review of maintenance plans/performance, asset performance and faults, warranties, spares, budgets and variation orders.
- Identifying and implementing asset improvement opportunities through regular performance analysis of SCADA and market data, asset dispatch and outages/faults.
- Being the primary contact for AEMO for market activities, settlement and planning, including monitoring compliance with the AEMO dispatch instructions and overseeing dynamic bidding platform provider performance.

**Requirements**:

- A tertiary qualification in a technical, engineering or commercial discipline.
- Previous experience in asset management for relevant assets, with a strong preference for solar and battery assets.
- Advanced project management skills, preferably with a project management qualification.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Adept at problem identification and resolution.
- Experience with asset management related tools.
- Experience with HSEQ, risk management and contract management.
- An understanding of energy use and energy markets in Australia.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- Proactive with high levels of initiative.
- Collaborative team player.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Willingness to travel regionally and interstate.
- Australian citizen or permanent resident.
