Central Coast Council is the third largest water utility (or water and sewage service) in NSW servicing 139,000 homes and businesses in a growing region. As a part of the Water and Sewer team, you will play an important role in the processes that support the Central Coast's Water Supply System, supplying around 80 million litres of water and managing wastewater for 120,000 properties through more than 2,200 kilometres of pipelines. As the Team Leader Wastewater, you will work collaboratively with the leadership team to ensure the operation, maintenance and risk management of Councils Wastewater treatment plants to ensure regulatory requirements and standards are achieved. You will support and oversee the Wastewater team, undertaking operational work or service provision at Council's Wastewater Treatment Plants and collaborate across Water and Sewer in order to successfully complete a range of programs and projects to support the wider section. This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community. **Key activities of this role include**: - Provide technical advice to treatment plant operators to resolve problems which are often complex in nature - Identify and lead the implementation of opportunities to improve efficiency of operations - Develop and manage contracts, projects and consultancies including services, materials, supply and equipment contracts related to plant operations or augmentations - Ensure effective monitoring systems are utilised in relation to both legislative requirements and Central Coast Council methods and procedures for sample collection, testing and documentation management measures - Develop and maintain documentation for plant operations and maintenance strategies including identifying action areas based on analysis of plant performance data, asset condition and changing external factors to assist in the guidance of plant refurbishment requirements and process optimisation requirements and process optimisation **About you**: - You have extensive knowledge and practical experience in wastewater treatment processes You are a strong communicator with the ability to build relationships with team members and stakeholders - You enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise, while also learning from others - Having a work/life balance is important to you **About us**: - We are a large organisation delivering a wide variety of services to our local community - You will be joining a team of professionals who excel at what they do - We offer a supportive work environment with opportunities for career development - We offer an attractive range of benefits to our employees. **What we offer**: - Weekly pay cycle - Generous leave provisions: 20 days paid Annual Leave, 15 days Sick Leave/Carers Leave, Health and Wellbeing Leave, Long Service Leave after 5 years, Additional purchased leave, Parental Leave - 18 weeks full pay/36 weeks ½ pay, Paternity Leave - 2 weeks - Novated leasing - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) available to employees and their families - Fitness Passport - access to gyms across the Central Coast and Newcastle - Health and wellbeing programs - skin cancer screening, Breastscreen, Flu vaccination, blood donations - Recognition of service - Council Child Care salary sacrifice - Professional Development opportunities - Individual career development and learning opportunities - Reward & Recognition programs. **Please refer to the **position description **for detailed information on the position and required skills and experience.** This role provides a commencing salary range of between $92.1k to $110.5k per annum dependent on skills and experience + 10.5% superannuation. A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy.
