**About the role**:

- Lead and motivate the Civil Operations & Assets Branch to achieve goals and projects.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external partners for consistent support and data management.
- Develop and implement a sustainable framework for maintenance and construction of Council infrastructure.
- Coordinate departmental strategies and plans, including IT services, property, and corporate data/inventory

**Duties**:

- Manage the Civil Operations and Assets Branch to deliver timely and cost-effective construction and maintenance activities for Council infrastructure.
- Provide expert technical oversight for asset management and engineering projects.
- Ensure compliance with risk management systems and standards for maintenance activities.
- Continuously review and improve work practices, service delivery methods, and business processes.
- Foster a positive work culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

**Skills and experience**:

- Tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in engineering, project management or asset management
- Previous leadership experience managing the Civil Operations
- Experience in the implementation of asset management systems
- Well-developed communication skills with proven ability in consultation, negotiation and conflict resolution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Well-developed financial and budget management skills
- Driver’s Licence - “C” class
