Consultant Gynaecology Oncologist - external peer and clinical support for fortnightly (online) preoperative planning meeting at Western Health.
Western Health is now one of the larger providers of Women’s Healthcare in Australia and metropolitan. Rapid expansion of the service over the past 10 years has seen a growing number of complex Gynaecology Oncology patients with varied pathology and associated co-morbidities. The Division and gynaecology unit seeks to appoint an experienced gynaecological oncology consultant to provide expert clinical input and peer support for the GO team, which is currently led by a solo GO subspecialist. This external appointment will provide this through attendance at a fortnightly online pre-operative surgical planning meetings. The meetings are multidisciplinary with attendance by the general gynaecology teams (SMS and JMS), gynaecological oncology unit (including Clinical Nurse Specialist), colorectal and general surgery and urology.
The position would be for an initial period of 12 months with the option for ongoing engagement. and ongoing.
This position would suit an experienced (10 years +) certified GO subspecialist who would provide expert opinion, commentary and peer support best care and aid the GO team in decision making in the pre
- operative planning for these complex patients. There would not be any direct patient care related to the role.
The position will be remunerated on an hourly contracted basis at a rate to be negotiated, commensurate with the experience of the successful applicant.
- Western Health is a RANZCOG accredited training site for both core and advanced trainees. At this stage the service is not accredited for GO subspecialty training.
