**The Opportunity**:
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Urban Designer to join our Melbourne Design team. You will have the opportunity to work with some of our brightest minds and leading clients across Australia and play a meaningful role in urban regeneration and master planned communities.
The role is an exciting opportunity to bring your own style and creativity to a team of passionate professionals that will help grow and shape your career.
Some exciting projects we are currently working on are the Western Geelong Growth Area, Sandy Bay Structure Plan (Hobart), Urban Design and Housing Design Guides for the ACT, and transformational city shaping infrastructure project in Melbourne.
**You will**:
- Contribute to a range of master planning tasks including site analysis plans, concept design, structure plan, detail subdivision design, yield analyses and design guidelines for relevant greenfield projects.
- Participate in Urban design visioning and critical thinking for great ideas and approaches towards frameworks, detailed urban design projects and strategies.
- Undertake visualisation of design concepts through 2D and 3D modelling, using free hand and graphic programs such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchup.
- Work alongside other professionals on a range of multi-disciplinary projects, working to direction or a brief, to deadlines, within budget and with a commercial focus.
- Have a proactive attitude and quick to learn and problem solve on the job.
- Support the Design Studio in servicing client requirements.
- Attend client meetings and liaise with clients and fellow consultants.
**About You**:
- Undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in Town Planning, Landscape
- 2- 5 years Architecture, Urban Design, Architecture and or relevant work experience.
- Able to communicate graphically and verbally using both digital and hand drawn formats to convey design ideas, concepts and documentation.
- Experience in master planned communities and subdivision would be beneficial.
- Competent and efficient AutoCAD user is preferred.
- Competent and efficient user of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, illustrator and InDesign);
- Skills in 3D visualisation software including Sketchup, Lumion, Revit, Enscape or similar would be beneficial to the role;
- Skills in GIS Mapping to assist the team in site analysis, spatial mapping and data analysis would be a point of difference in the team, but not a requirement of this role.
- Experience working in a team environment and a willingness to learn, mentor and collaborate with others.
