**The Company**

Our client is a leading ASX listed Private Pathology Company and is one of the largest private pathology businesses in Australia, servicing more than 90 private and public hospitals and employ more 3,800 people across Australia.

**The Role**

In your role as Head of Department - Chemistry, you will work closely with the Laboratory Manager and Supervising Chemical Pathologist to provide operational leadership for all Biochemistry services across the Victorian network. You will be responsible for the day to day operation across Chemistry, Toxicology and Special Chemistry and directly supervising and managing a team of around 40 staff.
- Internal KPI Development and Success
- Financial Budget Management
- Manage and lead the team to success with a strong emphasis on positive attitude, positive communication, bonding and engagement
- Oversee staff rostering, Equipment Maintenance and Reagent and Consumable Supply
- Change Management as required to keep up with emerging technologies relevant to chemistry and workflow

**About You**
- Tertiary Qualifications in Biochemistry or equivalent
- Post Grad study in a relevant field would be advantageous
- At least 5 years post graduate industry experience, with a strong bias towards process improvement
- Team management/leadership experience
- Project delivery and process improvement
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
