Manager - Retirement Living and Home Care

**Summary**

The Manager, Retirement Living and Home Care is primarily responsible for the day to day operations of the two separate components of our retirement living community at The Queenslea:
(i) 37 x 2 and 3 bed Serviced Apartments; and

(ii) Home Care Service

**About the role**

Reporting directly to our Chief Operating Officer, the Manager, Retirement Living and Home Care will be responsible for the day to day operations including:

- Managing resident enquiries, apartment sales, new resident inductions, overseeing village presentation and cleanliness, managing the Village Home Care service in conjunction with Oryx’s partnership with a preferred home care provider/s, liaison with the Residents Committee/s (if any) and ensuring village regulatory compliance.
- Ensuring a high level of resident satisfaction to create an exceptional reputation of the Oryx brand amongst the community.
- Creating a safe, welcoming and positive environment through engagement with potential and future residents of the Village, visitors, other stakeholders and residents at The Queenslea (including at the Residential Aged Care Facility and the Early Learning Centre) and the wider community.
- Being accountable for the ongoing business operations and financial performance of the Village and its associated home care service.
- Being directly accountable for achieving the business and financial goals and objectives determined by, and in consultation with, the COO and for ensuring the financial profitability and prosperity of the Village and its residents’ whilst operating within Oryx Communities’ Values.

This is a dynamic, hands on, end-to-end position, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational standards and success of the Village is maintained.

Personal availability out of hours in the event of a disaster, emergency or other matter as deemed appropriate by duty manager may be required.

**About you**

As a collaborative compassionate member of the team with experience within the retirement living care sector, you’ll have:

- Strong administration skills and attention to detail
- Proven retirement village management experience
- Excellent leadership, communication and proactive conflict resolution skills
- Detailed knowledge of retirement village regulation
- Outstanding work ethic and the natural ability to lead by example
- Flexibility with working hours
- Sound resident focus with due regard for any impact on the broader organisation
- Ability to co-ordinate multiple stakeholders to deliver on organisational goals
- Able to communicate effectively throughout the business
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to foster and manage relationships and implement negotiation and conflict resolution strategies in a proactive manner whilst maintaining positive relationships
- HR/staff management experience.

Desirable:

- Knowledge of home care service provision and regulation

**Salary**: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
All Oryx staff are required to have all their COVID 19 vaccinations including boosters and an up to date influenza vaccination. As this position will visit both the retirement apartments and aged care sites, P2 masks and daily RAT and testing is required.
