Position Description

Job Title: Restaurant Manager FOOD AND BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR

Reporting to: Owner LEVEL 5

Responsible for:

- Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
- Customer service according to The Shed’s quality and service standards
- Recruitment, supervision and management of Counter staff, Floor Staff and Kitchen Staff
- Operation and balancing of cash registers.
- Creating a productive, efficient, and harmonious staff work environment.
- High quality service of food and beverage
- Ensuring safe food guidelines and practices are followed by all staff.
- Safety and cleanliness of front of house staff and customer areas
- Maintenance of costs and sales levels within or bettering company guidelines
- Planning for future development of facilities and service improvements

Main activities:

- Offer a high level of service to customers, making all their visits enjoyable.
- Meet, greet, seat and farewell customers at the cafe.
- Take orders, serve food and beverages and clear tables.
- Interview and select floor staff, counter staff, and kitchen staff.
- Organise and implement the training of floor staff and counter staff.
- Organise the performance review of all floor and counter staff twice yearly.
- Ensure staffing costs conform to guidelines.
- Supervision of floor staff and counter staff to ensure all tasks are carried out correctly

and according to standard.
- Handle complaints according to guidelines and so that it leaves customers satisfied and

impressed.
- Support the Head Chef in the management of the kitchen.
- Promote the The Shed and its offerings to potential clients.
- Communicate with the Owner regarding problems or changes needed with service or

systems.
- Balance the register at the end of the shift ensuring a high level of accuracy and honesty.
- Ensure the safety of staff and patrons during service and after leaving.
- Ensure Responsible Service of Food is implemented.
- Maintain hygienic food handling practices and cleanliness of all waiting and bar staff.
- Maintain and report on stock levels and security.
- Maintain wage costs within guidelines and customer spending above agreed figures.
- Maintain stock levels for efficient service through efficient ordering practices.
- Carry out any other duties as advised from time to time

Special requirements/tools/equipment/clothing:
The Shed top and Apron provided by the owner/manager. Black pants. Safety shoes (preferably

black).

Job Description - Cafe Manager

Other features of job - shifts/night work/ availability/working conditions etc: Available for work Monday to Sunday and as advised by roster. Able to work until close.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

**Experience**:

- Hospitality: 4 years (required)

**Language**:

- English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Safety Supervisors Certificate (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
