Rosehill provides excellent facilities for our students with a designated Year 11 Study Centre, and a purpose-built Year 12 Study Centre. An EAL and international student collaboration space complements our International Student Program. As a multicultural community we understand the benefits of globalization and exposing local students to other perspectives and experiences. We enjoy bespoke science rooms, renovated visual arts spaces and a well-resourced library. A new STEM Centre was completed in 2020 and hosts our Virtual Reality experience. In 2021 the school oval was fully refurbished and together with basketball and tennis courts, weights room and a gymnasium, students have ample space and high-quality facilities at their disposal. Significant passive recreational areas are also available throughout the school grounds. The current capital works program has delivered a state-of-the-art Auditorium and learning facilities including a purpose-built fashion/design area; media room, ceramics room and Music complex. The refurbishment of A Wing is due to be completed by the end of 2024 further enhancing the teaching and learning environment of the college.
The College is in its second year of a new Strategic Plan and looks forward to continuing celebrating its strong successes in Literacy and Numeracy, whilst further enhancing student outcomes by providing opportunities through the Diversity Inclusion Funding, access to the Mental Health Menu and its strong focus on student agency.
**Selection Criteria**:
**SC1** Highly developed counselling skills and experience in counselling adolescents presenting with a range of issues who may be self-referred, teacher or parent referred.
**SC2** Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of programs that foster resilience in young people and address their social, emotional and educational needs.
**SC3** Knowledge of case management and student support strategies, with a demonstrated capacity to deliver a comprehensive wellbeing service to students and families in an educational setting.
**SC4** Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and network with the wide range of people within the education and wider community.
**SC5** Demonstrate a commitment to professional learning and growth and have appropriate qualifications and capacity to perform the roles and duties as described in the 'schools specific roles section'.
**SC6** Demonstrated ability to actively promote the safety and wellbeing of all students in line with the Child Safe Standards.
**Role**:
The Student Counsellor supports students with specific social and emotional needs to engage with school.
An integral component of this role is to facilitate support for teachers when working with students at risk of disengaging from school.
The Social Worker/Psychologist/Counsellor also contributes to the development of high-quality programs that promote wellbeing and engagement throughout the College.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide comprehensive and transparent case management to allocated students.
- Facilitate intensive support for students with specific social, emotional and educational needs through school-based interventions and case management.
