**What You Will Be Doing**
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a valued and integral member of the Peninsula Health multidisciplinary team demonstrating flexibility in caring for women and their families. The student Midwife works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence-based, women-centred care to achieve optimal health outcomes for the mother - baby dyad in the postpartum period and beyond.
Throughout the program the student is expected to deliver midwifery care at the level of a developing learner commensurate with the level of knowledge acquired through practical experience and academic knowledge. The Post Graduate Student is expected to work closely with the Peninsula Health Learning Hub to meet all requirements of the program.
Being a midwife is an inspiring and immensely fulfilling role that requires a number of qualities including confidence, compassion and trust. Every day is different, bringing with it assorted experiences and challenges, and midwives need to have the skills to respond to all of these appropriately and competently.
**What You Need**
We anticipate you will have:
- Registered Nurse (Division 1) with minimum of one year's experience
- Planned full time enrolment in the graduate diploma of midwifery at Federation University
