We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, capable, and reliable person to fill the role of Grounds person on a Casual basis. You will hold the responsibility for keeping the indoor and outdoor areas and pathways of the Sanctuary clean and litter free. Weekend work and holiday period shifts will be required so the applicant will need to have seven-day availability. Pay and work conditions are under the Amusements, Events & Recreations Award 2020 Grade 2 of the Award: $27.15 per hour.

**Some of the things you’ll be doing**:

- Responsible for physical cleaning of Sanctuary’s external facilities including over 4km of paved pathways, all on site litter bins, plus cleaning of other public areas including toilet facilities when required.
- Carrying a 15kg blower backpack for periods of up to 3 hours per day, use of Industrial pressure Cleaner, and will require extensive walking, bending, lifting, and carrying, in an outdoor environment, in all weathers.
- Typical shifts for this role start as early as 5.30am and will vary between 5 - 8 hours.
- Safe use of equipment and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is an essential part of this role.

**What we are looking for**:

- Previous experience working productively within a small team - a cooperative team player, able to follow direction without supervision and demonstrate initiative.
- Physical fitness to work outdoors in all weathers, walk long distances, empty bins, work with chemicals and capably perform all elements of a cleaning role.
- Previous experience in similar role would be an advantage.
- Ability to adhere to WHS guidelines/policies and practices.
- A friendly, professional, and courteous manner with all park visitors, staff and volunteers.
- Manual Driver’s licence and/or First Aid qualifications will be highly regarded but not essential.
